What is cellulite and how to get smooth skin

Summer is here and it brings us trips to the beach and wearing swimsuits. A major concern for the majority of womenregardless of age and body weight, is cellulite, which according to experts, occurs to some extent in 9 out of 10 women.

But what is this much-discussed cellulite? It is the deposition of water and fat between the skin and the subcutaneous tissue, due to poor circulation and swelling of the fat cells in the area where it occurs. It is most often visible on the thighs, buttocks, stomach, abdomen, calves and inner arms. This results in the skin’s texture resembling the bumpiness of an orange peel. The accumulation of localized fat can make its appearance better or worse.

A sedentary lifestyle, reduced physical activity, poor diet, hormonal disorders, heredity, smoking and other factors also contribute to the development of cellulite, as it is a problem that can arise from multiple causes. If you are wondering why cellulite mainly affects women, the answer is that women’s skin tissues are particularly sensitive to fluctuations in hormone levels (e.g. relating to the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and menopause), and thus more readily leads to storage and creation of accumulated fat.

How can you combat cellulite? SYMMETRIA proposes a number of protocols, such as Velashape and injectable mesotherapy, which if applied in combination and depending on your needs, can offer impressive results in improving the look and texture of your skin.
