Pizza with Cauliflower

Pizza is most people’s favorite food, but unfortunately we can not fit it into our daily diet for two reasons: a) the dough/flour base is rich in carbohydrates and other fat-rich ingredients. If you are looking for an alternative version, you will love our proposal. Replacing the base of flour with cauliflower and adding healthy toppings, gives you the opportunity to enjoy it as often as you want. In the following recipe we emphasize how you can make a tasty and easy cauliflower base.

Ingredients:

2 cups of grated fresh cauliflower

1 cup of freshly ground parmesan cheese

1 egg whipped

Adhesive paper for the pan

2-3 oz. Red sauce for the base

2 cup light mozzarella

Other toppings of your choice

Implementation:

1) Grate the cauliflower until it turns to small pieces.

2) Put it in a pot over very low heat (without oil or water) for about 10' to evaporate its water without cooking or staining. Then let it cool down slightly.

3) In a bowl, crack the egg. Add parmesan and cauliflower and mix well to form a ball.

4) Apply the non-stick paper to a baking sheet and place the mixture on top of it, pouring it into a pizza shape about 2 cm thick. Do not make the edges very thin, because the cauliflower will darken around the edges quite quickly if it is too thin.

5) Place the baking pan at 200°C and let it cook for about 15'-20' until the crust gets colored and stabilized.

6) Remove the cauliflower crust from the oven, add the sauce and toppings of your choice.

7) Put the pizza in the oven again and let it cook at 200°C for about 10'.

8) Remove the pizza from the oven and enjoy it.
