The Suture Secret Part 1

What are sutures, how are they applied and who is an ideal candidate.

Individuals are constantly striving to find less invasive procedures with minimal recovery time and immediate results. Gravity, the decline of hormonal activity and local fat deposits, leave their marks on our bodies and cosmetic medicine is called to “rescue” you quickly, efficiently and painlessly, in line with the latest technological developments.

The procedure of lifting and tightening using sutures is a minimally invasive technique, which is conducted in cosmetic and medical centers. Their major advantage is that the sutures are completely absorbable as the body can break them down. This is important because it helps override tissue complications that have been experienced with older, more traditional techniques that make use of non-absorbable sutures/threads. Complications such as injury to the nerves, postoperative bleeding and hematomas are avoided entirely. Simplicity, safety and efficiency are the key words for this method.

The absorbable PDO sutures that are applied to non-invasive body procedures surrounding skin tightening and lifting treatments, have been used in vascular surgery for more than thirty years. Their safety and absorbability by the body is guaranteed and they do not cause any negative reactions.

How are they applied?

A fine needle is used to create an inner matrix of sutures under the skin so that it can support and lift the tissue. The sutures induce an inflammatory reaction, attracting platelets and neutrophils, which then activate monocytes and fibroblasts, resulting in the production of collagen, elastin and angiogenesis. Collagen is also produced by the irritation of the skin from the application of a needle, which enhances the effects of the treatment.

Who is it targeted to?

This method is applied to people over 35 years old and in cases of saggy skin on certain parts of the body, such as the arms, abdomen, inner thighs and knees. It is also appropriate in cases after sudden weight loss or relaxation due to a recent pregnancy.
