Wearing a mask requires special facial skincare
Our new reality has resulted in new habits and safety precautions, including wearing a protective mask whenever we leave the house.
Masks have become our ‘new accessory’, and some of us have to wear them on a daily basis, making it necessary for us to follow a simple, effective, facial skincare routine.
To avoid irritation, it’s crucial that we clean our face well, and keep it well hydrated. Before putting on a mask, or after taking it off, wash your face gently using a cleanser with a balanced pH, that will help to get rid of any oiliness and bacteria. After cleansing, apply a moisturiser and wait for it to dry before putting on your mask. It’s best to choose skincare products that don’t contain fragrances, as these can irritate the skin.
Avoid wearing make-up, as many products – particularly concealer and foundation – can cause irritation and redness. Another thing to keep in mind during these times is to avoid testing new skincare and makeup products when we are out shopping.
Every night, or whenever you return home, thoroughly cleanse your face again, and if you have some extra time, in addition to your moisturiser, apply a hydrating mask for an extra boost.
