Grapes of all varieties and nutritious and delicious. They are well known since antiquity, as there are frescoes depicting people cultivating vines and collecting grapes that date back to 2.500 BC, and they offer multiple health benefits. They are a good source of vitamins (Α, C), minerals (phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium), antioxidants (mainly resveratrol which is found in the skin of the grape) and fibre. They have potent anti-aging, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumour properties. With 80-85% water content, they are low in calories, making them an ideal snack. Prepare a delicious, vitamin-packed smoothie, with the following ingredients (makes 2 servings):

1 cup grapes
1 pear
2tbsp dried blueberries
½ cup shaved ice

Cut the pear into pieces, wash the grapes and blend all the ingredients in the mixer. If you want, you can serve the smoothie with some nutmeg or cinnamon sprinkled on top. This recipe is an excellent source of vitamin C and fibre, making it a great addition to your breakfast.
