Easter is approaching and the fast of the Holy Week is for many an opportunity for detoxification - since we can avoid animal foods and sweets.

So, if you decide to follow this custom, make sure you eat all three meals of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and two snacks in between.

The main dishes can include salads with raw or boiled vegetables to which you can add barley nuts, seafood (octopus, cuttlefish, shrimp, shellfish), legumes and rice.

For snacks, choose fruits, raw, unsalted nutsrice wafers or wholemeal bread with a little peanut butter or tahini.

Generally, opt for whole grain products and be careful not to consume large amounts of starchy foods.


Adequate amounts of water are necessary to hydrate properly.
