Zinc: The essential nutrient for reducing stress and boosting the immune system

Low levels of zinc have been associated with high levels of stress and an increased incidence of depression.

Zinc is also involved in the processes carried out by the body’s immune system, which is why we need to make sure we are getting adequate zinc intake during these times. Zinc is not stored in our body, so it is advisable to consume it daily through diet.

One of the simplest sources of zinc is cashews. The advantage of eating cashews as your source of zinc is that they can be consumed as a snack but can alternatively be used in your cooking or salads! Good sources of zinc also include mushrooms, parsley, oysters, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and eggs.
