Autologous mesotherapy or Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), has been gaining ground because of its spectacular results from simply using ingredients from our own body. The difference from the traditional injectable mesotherapy is that instead of using ingredients prepared in the laboratory, we utilize plasma rich in platelets from your own body. The platelets release growth factors that promote the production of collagen and elastin. Moreover, this treatment nourishes the skin, since plasma contains proteins and trace elements necessary for cell renewal, providing deep hydration and firmness.

The doctor takes a small amount of blood from a peripheral vein that is then centrifuged to separate blood into its main components (plasma, platelets, white and red blood cells). From this, we use the plasma with growth factors contained in the platelets. Then, anesthetic cream is applied and then the processed plasma with platelets is injected with a very thin needle. The plasma and platelet growth factors stimulate tissue repair of damaged cells and gives face, neck, and décolleté skin a healthy appearance.

The Do’s and Don’ts after your face treatment

By taking care of the aftereffects of your face treatment, you are giving it time to adapt to the active ingredients, thereby boosting the effectiveness of the protocol in restoring your skin’s health.

Please follow the following instructions

• Avoid touching the treated area for a few hours following your treatment. After that, the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
• Avoid applying make-up on your skin immediately after the treatment.
• Immediately following your procedure and for 48 hours thereafter, please avoid; heat exposure, tanning beds, face massaging, pressing treated areas and extreme hot or cold temperatures such as steam rooms and saunas.
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning creams after the treatment. Always use SPF 30 or greater on the treated area.
• You are not allowed to use any retinol, at-home peels and skincare containing acids, bleaching creams, abrasive skincare products or exfoliants in the treated area for at least 72 hours.
• Keep your skin moisturized and hydrated. Be sure to drink lots of water.
• Maintain a healthy and balanced diet.
• Use a clean pillowcase and fresh towels.
• If another treatment is considered after your treatment, please inform your healthcare professional. Consider your follow-up treatment at least 1 week after, always following your doctor’s recommendations.

+ Avoid

• Bending over or lying down for 4 to 6 hours.
• You must keep your head upright for at least 6 hours after injection.
• Exercise and high-intensity workouts for 48 hours.
• Some medications might increase your risk of bruising. Be sure to ask your doctor when it’s safe to start taking them again.
